The Sixth Decade

Now, finally, after all these years there is a glimmer of a treasure
Much sought after
Wisdom

Wisdom is not like intelligence
Nor is it about learning
It is acquired by living

Once in awhile these days
I see something through its lens

But mostly what I see is
I really don’t know that much
About life, or love or God
These are so complex
And so simple
They cannot be grasped
With the mind

Unless, perhaps
By the mind of a child

Maybe this is why the grandchildren and I enjoy each other so much
